Keep doing what you are doing.

This thought has been "haunting" me for weeks now, so I must write it down as an encouragement to others. Kirsten, my daughter, wrote these words tonight on her profile and it just sparked something in me. She wrote "Follow your dreams peeps, even if it starts small!"

I have been very active in church activity for many years and I found that there was a teaching and tendency to encourage people to follow "GOD's plan for the lives". ( I was guilty of this as well) This was put in many ways. For example, "seek out you destiny", "pursue God's calling", etc. These statements are not false or wrong, but oh my, have you thought how stagnating they can be!

The moment a mentor or leader says that to a person, there is a tendency to stop, and re-evaluate your life. If you are slightly dissatisfied, there is a chance that you will take yourself into a "holding" pattern, waiting for that Heavenly 'voice' to tell you the next step or what to do. So, you go from holding pattern to holding pattern "expecting" something to happen or something to break.

A very wise man once said to me, "Keep doing what you are doing to your best ability until GOD tells you to stop or until HE tells you to do something different." This statement took me out of a 'holding pattern and into activity. In that activity I find blessing, peace, joy, fulfilment and destiny. Yes, there are days when that expectation rises and I wonder what the next level or assignment will be, but in the mean time, my assignment is to "keep doing what I am doing to my best ability until GOD tells me to stop or until HE tells me to do something different."

So, don't ever sit and do nothing. Get up look around, find what is bubbling out of you heart and "Keep doing what you are doing to your best ability until GOD tells you to stop or until HE tells you to do something different."

Nothing!

My opening thought is about "nothing".

Have you ever wondered what thinking about "nothing" is like. Well it must be very exhausting because it makes the biggest strongest men tired.

Here is the reasoning or so I am told. Men often sit quietly on their favorite chairs or spots in the garden, gazing into the realms of the wise and unknown. The lady in their life will then walk into their space and inquisitively or lovingly ask that most intrusive question, "What are you thinking about, Sweetheart".

The answer, "NOTHING, dear!" and a cheesy smile will usually creep across the mans face.

So you see, men big and small do unknowingly and unwittingly partake in the awesome form of meditation called "Nothingness meditation"...... or maybe they are all just to embarrassed to tell what they were thinking about.
